Walks in the park have kept me sane during this time. Loving spending time in nature along with my new four-legged neighbor who moved in upstairs.

What a lovely thing to think about! Recently someone told me that I was welcoming - further explaining that I would be a great person for someone to meet at a party who didn’t know anyone. Warmed my little heart!

Redondo Beach, CA, USA 33 I find clarity and calm through engaging several senses at once. Italy, flowers, an anthropology volcano candle, and the sound of Kacey Musgraves singing on the Echo. “Thanks for being such a delightful friend.”

This pic is my friend Suzette’s breakfast nook. Recently I had the pleasure of caring for her animals and home while she was away. As a writer, I found myself coming back to the nook throughout the days to jot an idea or compose a few paragraphs. A great respite from caregiving - caring for her animals, the nook, AND her screened-in front porch complete with porch swing, and the back yard. All these spaces represent calm for me and allowed me to feel like I was on a restful vacation.

Last compliment received (it was from Suzette): “I noticed the sage in front of the porch was blooming and a sage bush in the back that’s never bloomed before is blooming. And a spider lily in front is blooming. I think that’s about you being here.”

“I make good farro risotto? I guess that counts, haha.”
