1- What did you eat for breakfast today?

A smoothie! We’ve got berries, chia seeds, peanut butter, and a little coconut all brought together by almond milk

2- Describe yourself in 5 words, don’t be modest.

Friendly, goofy, curious, adaptable, messy

3-What is something you wholeheartedly believe?

You’re never too full for one last french fry.

4- Something you’re worried about

The tourism industry and everyone around the world who deeply depends on its health and success.

5-Something you’re proud of

I’m proud of my gap year. I graduated a year early from college and spent a year working weird jobs (like did you know you can earn $12 for picking up dog poop from someone’s yard? I wish I didn’t!) and backpacking in Europe and South America. My experience made me braver, more comfortable with talking to strangers (I’m like a mid-western mom now), and I returned ready and eager to join the workforce instead of dreading it.

6-Three boring facts about yourself

My right foot is a little larger than my left. I’m an only child. When it comes to toothpaste, I strongly prefer Crest to Colgate.

7-Last time you cried?

A vulnerable cry when forming a new relationship. Not happy, not sad, just honest.

8-The nicest compliment you’ve ever received

My friend gave me a bracelet, 5 years ago, inscribed with the word “agape.” I read it first as the mouth-open, shocked definition of the word, to which I was like, thanks? But, soon after, I learned there’s another meaning. While the word has a Greco-Christian origin, and I’m not religious one way or another, I still find it powerful. Agape refers to a love that is selfless, unconditional, and “divine.” I remain so moved that my friend picked this word when thinking of me and the way I approach life. I’ve worn it every day since May 2015.

9-What’s something you’re curious about that your friends may not know about?

My personality type leans more on the ‘once i’m into something, i’m obsessive’ side. I also feel like I need to proselytize my interests onto others. All of this is to say, I don’t know if I’ve had an interest that’s remained private. Things that suck me into rabbit holes include linguistics, true crime, and covid-19 facts.

10-Last thing you bought

It’s actually been a few days, so I consulted my online bank portal to confirm. Technically, the last time I exchanged money for something was over Venmo (for spinach, goat cheese, and water chestnuts #essentials). The last thing I paid for directly were dumplings from a new restaurant near my parents’ house.

11-Last thing you googled

“Covid-19 in Colombia”

12-What is your favorite way to pass time?

Nothing moves faster than the time between when you showered and when you’re supposed to be somewhere. But I love spending time in that window. Fresh, warm, a little sleepy, knowing you should start getting ready, but likely still sitting on my bed listening to music or scrolling on my phone. Peaceful & alone.

But the normal answer is sitting somewhere in the perfect weather and watching people. Or with an animal that actually really likes your company. Or pre-gaming a big night out with friends. Or sleeping in on a day I have no real plans.

13-What does ‘See the Human’ mean to you?

‘Sonder: Coined in 2012 by John Koenig, whose project, The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, aims to come up with new words for emotions that currently lack words. The profound feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passed in the street, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it.’ Shamelessly copy + pasted from Wikipedia.
